You can’t afford not to attend.
College graduates earn twice as much as high school graduates. And with the right financial aid advice, going from high school to college is not only smart — it’s easy.

February 21, 2010, you can stop by one of our 20 locations throughout Kansas, between 2 and 4 p.m., and receive free help filling out the FAFSA.

Plus, you can win a $500 scholarship* while you’re there. Four college-bound students at each College Goal Sunday location will win a scholarship to the college or trade school of their choice. So mark your calendars for Sunday, February 21st and head to College Goal Sunday. It’s the easiest way to get money for college.

*Scholarship winner must be a first-semester freshman in the fall of 2010.

College Goal Sunday Checklist

What do I bring?

  • Your parents, if available. Plan to attend even if they cannot.
  • 2009 tax returns — if they’re ready.
  • 2009 W-2 forms.
  • Your student and parent PINs. Apply for your PINs at www.pin.ed.gov.

What do I bring if I haven’t done my taxes yet?

  • Last paycheck received in December 2009 by you and your parents, showing year-to-date earnings.
  • 2008 tax returns.
  • 2009 statements of interest earned.

What if I don’t have any 2009 tax information yet?

Don’t worry. Attend College Goal Sunday because you’ll learn valuable information about obtaining financial aid and filling out the FAFSA.

What is College Goal Sunday?

The College Goal Sunday program was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association with funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and with supplemental support from Lumina Foundation for Education.

In Kansas, College Goal Sunday is a non-profit event coordinated by the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA) and other interested and dedicated volunteers. This annual event is sponsored by USA Funds and the Lumina Foundation for Education.
