On April 17th, the Sublette Band and Choir traveled to Hays for State Large Group Contest on the campus of FHSU.  Both groups got the highest ratings possible:  three first division ratings (I).  Only three Choirs received that honor throughout the day: Hays High(60 voices), Salina Central (54 voices) and Sublette (18 voices).

On April 5th, 5 ensembles and 6 soloists received I ratings at Regional Contest, which qualified them to go on to State Solo/Ensemble Contest held in Concordia on April 26th. The following ensembles received I ratings:  Percussion Ensemble, Girls’ Vocal Ensemble, Boys’ Vocal Trio, and Exaltation. Soloists receiving I ratings were: Mallory Weidner, Trumpet; and vocal soloists: Aja Ardery, Gentry Hibbard, Parker Kelling, and Paige Phoenix. All together the Sublette High School Musicians received 36 gold medals and high praise from all their judges.

You can hear some of these groups on Saturday, May 10th, at 7 pm at the High School.  Due to rehearsal time constraints, the Lark Lounge will NOT be open – but a wonderful concert is planned none-the-less. The concert will start in the Old Gym at 7pm. There will be no admission charge.
